ZPCC Honors the Zomi Congress for Democracy on Its 37th Anniversary
The Zomi Political Coordination Council (ZPCC), through its Department of Information and Media, extends heartfelt congratulations and profound respect to the leadership, members, and supporters of the Zomi Congress for Democracy (ZNC/ZCD) as you commemorate your 37th Anniversary.
For thirty-seven years, the Zomi Congress for Democracy has stood as a living testimony of perseverance and patriotism. Through seasons of hardship and triumph, the ZNC/ZCD has remained an enduring symbol of the Zomi people’s political awakening — upholding federal democracy, ethnic equality, and Zomi unity as guiding lights amid Myanmar’s darkest chapters.
Your unwavering pursuit of justice — from the historic victories in the 1990, 2012, and 2015 elections to your consistent advocacy for the full realization of the Panglong Agreement — has kept alive the democratic spirit and aspirations of our people. Despite political suppression, imprisonment, and the 1992 party ban, your courage has not wavered. You have consistently defended the dignity, identity, and rights of the Zomi people with wisdom, integrity, and faith.
The story of the Zomi Congress for Democracy is the story of our nation’s unbreakable spirit — of those who dream of a Zogam rooted in truth, justice, and freedom. Your steadfastness continues to inspire the ZPCC and all Zomi institutions working toward a federated future in accordance with the Zogam Charter.
As we celebrate this milestone, we reaffirm our solidarity with your vision. Together, we share one destiny — a future where the Zomi people live in unity, dignity, and self-determination under the banner of democracy and peace.
With shared hope and solidarity,
Department of Information and Media

Editorial Note / Disclaimer
The Zomi National Congress (ZNC) and the Zomi Congress for Democracy (ZCD) are the same political organization, representing the continuous and legitimate political movement of the Zomi people from its origin in 1988 (India), 1990 (Burma) to the present day. The distinction between ZNC and ZCD is primarily chronological and contextual, rather than ideological or organizational.
